Lorenzo il Magnifico: A New Renaissance

Lorenzo il Magnifico is a piece of our heart. It was not only our first game to enter the BGG Top 100, but also one of the first games we worked on together with Simone Luciani. That collaboration eventually led him to become part of our team, making Lorenzo il Magnifico an important part of our own history as well.

So our goal was not simply to take everything from the Big Box and repackage it. We love variety and combining different elements, but we wanted this edition to be a synthesis of what we believe is the best possible version of Lorenzo il Magnifico.

Why two versions of Lorenzo?

In Lorenzo il Magnifico: A New Renaissance, the Development Cards have been reworked to provide more variety in each game.

Disruptive effects have been cut, while the elements that make Lorenzo elegant and tense have been kept.

Leaders take centre stage and can be drawn throughout the game, so you could end up playing five or six instead of discarding most after turn one.

Buildings now reward full commitment, and a token-driven Market keeps opportunities shifting from round to round.

The player count balance has been reworked too, with rising costs instead of hard blocks on Production and Harvest.

The result isn't just more Lorenzo; it's the real Lorenzo: a decade of play and experience distilled into a more varied, adaptive and elegant edition.

Ten years later, Lorenzo's court comes back to life

Over the past months we've been working to bring new life to one of our best games, without touching what makes it Lorenzo il Magnifico.

From the board to the pieces, from the cards to the icons, every choice serves two goals: Making the world of the game more immersive and the game itself easier to read at the table.

          A deeper visual identity

          Main Board

The original board remains recognizable but now has more depth, contrast and visual hierarchy.

The game areas stand out clearly, while the surrounding artwork gives the world of Lorenzo real presence.

The cards get a new skin too, with more atmospheric illustrations and greater attention to light and perspective, while keeping the readability.

The icons have been reworked to be more immediate: numbers instead of dots, and similar effects finally distinguished at a glance.

A board built to play smarter

Character cards now have a dedicated area, with their Victory Point value shown right below each card: no more counting at the end of the game.

Deed cards find their place on the right, stackable while staying readable at a glance. Same board you know, with more order and less mental math.
